About the Workshops
Federal and state lawmakers need to hear from you about how Medicaid helps you and your family. Many lawmakers do not know how Medicaid helps you to stay healthy and live in your homes, not in institutions. With possible cuts in funding and changes to the Medicaid program coming up, your services and supports may be changed or stopped.
The Board for People with Developmental Disabilities is hosting two virtual workshops to help you tell your Medicaid stories to your policymakers. The workshops will talk about:
- what is happening with federal Medicaid funding.
- how to tell your story with public policy in mind.
You will work with advocates in group discussions to learn how you can tell your story. During the workshop, you will be able to practice telling it in a less stressful situation before talking to your policymakers.
