The Wisconsin Department of Health Services wants you to share your experiences with Include, Respect, I Self-Direct (IRIS). This is part of the renewal process the department started for the program waiver.

Please share your experiences if you are:

  • a person using the program.
  • a family member of someone using the program.
  • a caregiver of someone using the program.

Suggested topics you can tell the Department of Health Services about as part of your comment

These topics are from the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities’ list.

  • How much of your care plan relies on natural support to take care of daily needs? A natural support is a person who gives you unpaid day-to-day assistance, like a family member or a friend.
  • If your care plan includes a set number of hours per week of service or support (including workers that help you at your home or job), can you find enough workers to fill all the hours in your plan?
  • If you can’t find enough workers or service providers, what happens?
  • Can you easily change your care plan or increase your budget if your needs or goals change?
  • When you need to change how or where you are spending your IRIS budget, is this easy or hard? Is it fast or slow?
  • When you are hiring workers, is easy or hard to get them started (onboard) and paid? Is this a fast or slow process?
  • Are the administrative requirements and forms easy to understand and use?
  • How does your IRIS Consultant Agency (ICA) and Fiscal Employer Agent (FEA) support you in finding a way to do what you need on time? This could be:
    • making changes to a care plan
    • moving money around in your budget
    • increasing your budget
    • onboarding and paying workers
  • Have you changed your IRIS Consulting Agency or Fiscal Employer Agency? Why did you make the change?
  • Do you know how to report a problem in IRIS? If you have reported a problem, what happened?
