What is the Council?
The Lived Inclusion for Transformation (LIFT) Advisory Council serves as a formal advisory body to Disability Rights Wisconsin (DRW), centering the voices of individuals living with disability. The Council’s purpose is to inform, guide, and strengthen Disability Rights Wisconsin’s advocacy, programs, policies, and priorities through direct input from disabled individuals across Wisconsin.

Meeting Information and Time Commitment
- Reviewing Applications: The Advisory Council leadership will review applications throughout January, and continue to work to add members throughout 2026, making sure that a range of voices and lived experiences guide the work of the council.
- Compensation: Members are volunteers and are not compensated.
- Terms: Council Terms are two (2) years.
- Meeting Attendance: Members must make every effort to attend all meetings. If you are unable to attend a meeting for any reason, please contact the Council chair(s).
- Meeting Frequency and Location: LIFT Advisory Council meets virtually once a month, on the third (3rd) Monday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Central time. In the future, there may be some meetings in-person at Disability Rights Wisconsin’s Madison or Milwaukee office(s).
- Other Time Commitments: Additional time commitments may include:
- projects in outreach and community education
- committee work
- related meetings
