With these goals at the forefront of all we do, Disability Rights Wisconsin is excited to unveil our new mission and look that will help support our work moving forward.

We would like to thank Banter Design working with us to develop our new look and identity over the past years!

Come celebrate this step with us!

Our New Mission Statement

“Disability Rights Wisconsin strengthens the dignity and self-determination of people with disabilities by defending rights and advocating for systemic change.”

At the heart of our mission is our vision of a society that is universally accessible, inclusive, and just. To reach that vision, we center people with disabilities by listening to their needs, validating their experiences, and equipping them with the knowledge and support they need to exercise their full rights under the law.

Our Executive Director, Jill Jacklitz, shares why now is the right time for Disability Rights Wisconsin to refresh its mission and vision:

“Wisconsin’s disability community faces both new challenges and new opportunities, and we must be clear about the values that guide us forward. This mission reaffirms our deep commitment to justice for people with disabilities across Wisconsin. It is both a promise and a call to action. Our vision is bold — but it is also within reach when we work alongside others in the disability community for lasting change.”

Our New Logo and Colors

We have refreshed our colors and logo to better represent our work! As we planned for our rebranding, we wanted something vibrant and full of energy. Throughout our history as an agency, we have been shining a light on the issues that people with disabilities face in Wisconsin and nationwide.

Disability Rights Wisconsin's logo, which is a 6-pointed multicolored star. The negative space in the center represents a burst of light.
Because of this, we wanted to represent our work in this same light. In our new multi-colored logo, the bright burst of light represents our varied work and the power the disability rights movement has through solidarity with the entirety of the disability community.

Disability Rights Wisconsin on the Road

Disability Rights Wisconsin wants to connect with you and your community!

We are planning a series of day-long stops in communities across the state to engage with members of the disability community, supporters, and other partners in the coming months. We are open to a variety of events at each, including:

  • meet and greets with local partner organizations.
  • listening sessions.
  • educational events.
  • house parties.

If you would like to partner with us to host a day of events in your community, please send us an email at info@drwi.org or call 1-800-928-8778.
