Disability Rights Wisconsin is now hiring for a Staff Attorney for our Family Care and IRIS Ombudsman Program and SSI-MC External Advocacy Project, based out of Milwaukee.


SSI-MC Staff Attorney

About the Attorney Position

As part of the Supplemental Security Income Managed Care External Advocacy Project (SSI-MC EAP), the Staff Attorney supports and gives legal guidance to advocates. Their responsibilities include:

  • overseeing intake and cases.
  • working with other attorneys to discuss intake, cases, case strategy, and potential appeals and fair hearings.
  • drafting appropriate legal briefs, memos, and correspondence
  • giving legal research and backup to advocates and ombudsmen.
  • giving technical assistance and representation in administrative hearings.

Position Information

Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 FTE (40 Hours per week), Exempt

Starting Rate: $58,140 to $72,453; Attorney Pay Scale

Location: This position is located in the Milwaukee office. Hybrid work is available. Applicants must be a Wisconsin resident.
